Imjingak
Established in 1972 for those who had to flee their hometowns in North Korea during the Korean War, Imjingak is located northwest of Seoul. Some 400 relics and pictures of North Korea's military force, politics, society, and overall lifestyle are exhibited here. On display outside are twelve different Korean War tanks and combat planes. Here lies the Bridge of freedom, the point of interruption of the Gyeong-euiseon Railraod, and a platform on which Koreans whose ancestors are buried in the North can make ceremonial bows.
Inquires:
Imjingak Travel Information Center
Tel. 031-954-4744 (Kor)
How to get there:
Take the Gyeongeuiseon Line train from Seoul Station to Munsan (1 hour and 15-minute ride). Or take the Munsan-bound bus No. 900 at the Seobu Bus Terminal (to get to the terminal, take Seoul Subway Line 3 to Bulgwang Station). After getting off at Munsan, take an Imjingak-bound bus (20-minute ride).
Panmunjeom
Panmunjeom is located in the DMZ 4 km northwest of Imjingak. This cease-fire village was founded on July 27, 1953, and it is the place where the armistice agreement of the Korean War was signed. South-North talks still take place here. Group tours to Panmunjeom can be arranged through selected travel agencies for out-of-country visitors with passports. A military tour guide escorts visitors to the Freedom House for a look at North Korea.

Odusan Unification Observatory
At a peak 18 km south of Imjingak is the Odusan Unification Observatory, where visitors can view North Korea with high-powered binoculars. On display is a collection of items from North Korea including living necessities and clothes, providing a glimpse into the living conditions in the North. At the observation decks, tour guides will outline the current situation in the North Korea in English, Japanese, or Chinese.

How to get there:
Take the Gyeonguiseon Line from Seoul Railway Station (30 minutes) and get off at Geumchon Station. Walk briefly to the Tanhyeon Bus Terminal and take a local bus to the observatory (40-minuite ride). Admission is 2.000 won for adults and 1,300 won for children
Dora Observatory-The Third Tunnel
From Dora Observatory, tourists can view the North Korean propaganda village in the DMZ and as far north as the city of Gaeseong.
The Third Tunnel was discovered between Panmunjeom and Imjingak in June 1978. Because it is located only 44 km from Seoul, the imminent threat to security was far more menacing than for previously discovered tunnels. About 73 meters underground and two meters high and wide, the accessible length of the tunnel is 1,635 meters, though the tour does not proceed the entire length.
Inquiries:
Imjingak Travel Information Center : 031-953-4744
